Q: Do I need an appointment?
A: When shopping for evening wear, you do not need an appointment. If you are shopping for wedding dresses, please contact our sister store Sposa Wedding World at 604-521-1263.
Q: Do you carry Bridesmaid Dresses?
A: Yes, we do carry a selection of bridesmaid dresses. You can view our collection here. From December to March, we would prefer you come in during a week day as we will be better able to accommodate a larger party.
Q: Do you keep a school registry?
A: No, Bella Sposa does not maintain a school registry for graduation gowns. The designers we carry are not exclusive to Bella Sposa, and may be found at other stores or purchased online. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that nobody from her school has the same gown. We will not refund or exchange gowns due to conflict.
Q: Are alterations included in the price of the gown?
A: No, the cost of alterations is not included in the price. Alterations are an additional charge. Since our gowns are not custom made, alterations are necessary on most dresses.
Q: Are all of the dresses you carry authentic designs?
A: All of the dresses we sell are authentic and we are authorized retailers of the designers. You can visit each designer website and they will confirm that Bella Sposa is an authorized retailer.
Q: How do I know what size to order and how do I determine my measurements?
A: We will measure you at the time of purchase. This is a very important process when ordering a dress. Evening dresses do not fit like normal “street” clothes. Every designer has their own size chart and every style of dress fits a little different. Our knowledgeable staff will help you to determine the best size to order depending on the style of the dress and your measurements.
Q: The size chart says that I am a different size than what I wear. Why is that?
A: Evening dresses are sized differently than regular clothing, which means that your regular clothes size might not be the same as the dress size. We recommend that you stick with the measurements you take and match those to the size chart.
Q: What sizes do you carry in store?
A: The majority of the sizes we carry in-store are between size 2 and 16. Some of our dresses can be ordered as small as 000 and/or as large as 36 (select dresses/designers only).
Q: What about the length of the dress?
A: The length of the dress comes one standard size. They are not measured to the customer, and will most likely need altering. Some designers do offer extra length if you are tall. If you are above 5 feet 10 inches, we recommend ordering extra length.
Q: Can I order extra fabric?
A: Yes, some designers offer this. Please contact us directly for pricing and availability.
Q: Are all of the dresses in your store available now?
A: We have a selection of dresses in store we are happy to sell off the rack to you, as well as dresses for order, which may take as little as 5 weeks with standard shipping, however everything is subject to stock availability, and some sizes and colors may not be available for immediate shipment. If you find a dress you love, we will be able to determine the estimated delivery date for the dress you are interested in.
Q: What does 'Special Order' mean?
A: Special order dresses are designs that are not in stock but can be ordered from the designer. Specially ordered dresses will generally ship 10-16 weeks from the date of your order confirmation. When your order is processed we can provide you an approximate delivery date.
Q: Do you offer shipping and how much is it?
A: Yes, we provide standard ground shipping. The cost of shipping starts at $35 (within Canada), but depends on the dress that is being shipped.
Q: Do you rent dresses? Buy back dresses?
A: No, we do not do dress rental, nor do we buy dresses back from a customer.
Q: When I’m ready to order my dress what happens?
A: We will have you fill out a contract stating our terms of sale. We will require a minimum 50% deposit. Once your dress arrives, we will call you, and you can come in and pay the remainder of the balance.
Q: Can I place my order with a customer service representative?
A: Yes! You can place an order with a Bella Sposa representative during store hours or via email. You can reach us by phone at (604) 522-2189 or you can place your order via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, however, we do prefer you come into the store, as we do need to measure you and have you fill out some paperwork.
Q: Help! I need a dress right away!
A: If there’s a particular dress you’re interested in, we would recommend calling to chat with us to make sure your dress can arrive in time for your event. You can reach us by phone at (604) 522-2189.
Q: Do you carry stock of your dresses?
A: No, we do not carry stock in the dresses we have in store. The dresses we have in store are our samples, from which we order your size and selected colour.
Q: Do you have any accessories for sale?
A: Yes, we have a selection of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, brooches, and clutches/purses available for purchase.
Q: Do you sell shoes as well?
A: No, we do not carry any shoes.
Q: Where is your store?
A: Bella Sposa is located at 646 Columbia Street New Westminster BC V3M 1A9 CA. Our hours of operation are Monday 11-6pm Tuesday-Thursday 11-8pm Friday 11-6pm Saturday 10-5pm. Sundays are open seasonally (Jan to March 11-4pm). We are closed on statutory holidays.
